Mortimer and Stuhlbarg join Scorsese's Cabret cast

The cast for Martin Scorsese's Hugo Cabret is reaching mouth-watering levels of excitement after it was announced that A Serious Man's Michael Stuhlbarg and our very own Emily Mortimer would be lending their skills to the adaptation of the children's book by Brian Selznick.

The film tells the story of the young Hugo (played by Asa Butterfield) who lives secretly inside the walls of a Paris train station in the Depression era, making his home behind the clock. The discovery of a broken machine, an eccentric girl (Chloe Moretz) and peculiar toyshop owner (Ben Kingsley) take our hero in an unexpected direction.

Heat Vision reports that Mortimer will join the cast as a woman working in a flower shop at the station, while Stuhlbarg will play a film restorer. The pair will join Jude Law, Christopher Lee, Sacha Baron Cohen, Frances De La Tour, Helen McCrory, Ray Winstone and Richard Griffiths who are also due to appear.
