JT makes mortality look Sexy (Back)
News reached us only yesterday that pop warbler Rihanna fancies dipping a toe or two in the acting waters having signed up for naval romp Battleship. Well, she'd do well to take a leaf out of BFF Justin Tiberlake's book as the R&B star has quite comfortably made the transition from pop promo to the big screen what with appearances in Alpha Dog and David Fincher's forthcoming, The Social Network. And now The Trousersnake is taking it one step further and looks set to lead his own film! Director Andrew Niccol is considering giving JT the male lead in future-set sci-fi, I'm.mortal.
Deadline Hollywood reports that, after a series of chats, JT is ready to sign on and lead the line in this intriguing thriller opposite old Alpha Dog chum Amanda Seyfried.
Meanwhile Variety, thanks to studio New Regency, got their hands on the official synopsis, which reads thus; time has become the currency...once you turn 25 and your aging gene turns off, you must buy and bank time. If you are rich enough, you can live forever. But if you run out of time, you are engineered to die automatically. When a rebel from the ghetto is falsely accused of murdering a wealthy man for his time, he is forced to go on the run with a beautiful, rich hostage (Seyfried). Together, this duo rages against the system, living minute to minute. They discover that love is more powerful than all the time in the world."
