War. What is it good for? Absolutely nothing we're reliably informed. Surely though it can act as an interesting backdrop for a high concept rom-com-'ageddon, right? Well, that's certainly the thinking of Terminator Salvation director McG (stay with us now) who is rounding his cast for the wacky-sounding, This Means War.

Vulture has learned that Bronson and Inception star Tom Hardy is the new kid on the block and will be sparring with Star Trek's Chris Pine for Reese Witherspoon's affections.

This Means War is the story of two best friends (Pine and Hardy), inseparable since childhood, who fall in love with the same woman (Witherspoon). The two men's bond disintegrates and their ensuing battle escalates to mammoth proportions, with New York City demolished in their wake.

Witherspoon is also producing for 20th Century Fox alongside Will Smith and his Overbrook Entertainment.
