Lena Horne, widely regarded as Hollywood's first black leading lady, has died, according to media reports. She was 92.

Her son-in-law, Kevin Buckley, said Horne died on Sunday night at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York, reports the New York Times.

Horne made the move to Hollywood in the late 1930s and starred in the musicals Stormy Weather - also her signature song - and Ziegfield Follies. Although she never made it as a major star in Hollywood, she is renowned for breaking barriers for black actresses.

It's been a poorly kept secret that MGM, the studio behind the Bond franchise, is up for sale - the future of which has been casting a rather large shadow over the continuing adventures of 007. Uh-oh, the Twi-hards aren't going to like this. Their beloved trio of Edward, Bella and Jacob have fallen to the might of the low-budget horror success of the year. Yes, in its second week of release, "Paranormal Activity" claimed £1.8 million and jumped up a place to take the number one spot, while "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" fell two places to three.

Nestling snugly in between them in second place is Jim Carrrey's Scrooge in "A Christmas Carol", while the only new entry in the chart is the disposable animated alien comedy "Planet 51" at four. "Law Abiding Citizen" toed the line to stay in fifth place for a second week.

These past three weeks have certainly been marked by a two-man tussle at the summit of the Chart. Having managed to claim the top spot for the last two weeks, "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" has been eclipsed this time around by the unassuming Sandra Bullock and her true-life American Football tale, "The Blind Side". This Gridiron gangbuster took a further $20 million to cement its place as the Chart's champion.

There's been no disagreement with Universal Pictures. Variety has broken the news that zom-com "Zombieland", having bagged itself $85 million worldwide, will be granted the sequel treatment by Sony Pictures.

"Everyone had fun watching (the first) 'Zombieland'; making it a more visceral experience can only make it better," said the film's producer Gavin Polone. Yahoo! is showcasing the very first poster image for "Iron Man 2", due in cinemas on May 7, 2010, and thus has opened the floodgates for fans everywhere to pour out their excitement on those forums.

Those intrepid studios bod at Disney have discovered an unloved little cult sci-fi in their back catalogue ripe for the remake treatment. And said sci-fi is 1979's "The Black Hole", which will be given a spit and polish job, before being wheeled out in front of contemporary audiences, by "Tron: Legacy" director Joseph Kosinski and producer Sean Bailey. Tommy Lee Jones seems like a no-nonsense kind of guy and, clearly, there was too much nonsense in the script of "The Lincoln Lawyer" for Jones to be on board. Yes, the craggy-faced one, who was due to direct and co-star alongside Matthew McConaughey has left the project over creative differences regarding the script.
